Manas Nigam, M.D.
Meet Dr. Nigam
Manas Nigam, M.D., is a board-certified plastic surgeon who treats his patients as if they were his own family members. He operates with the most advanced techniques learned during his training at Georgetown University Hospital and the Joseph Barnhart Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Nigam is skilled at treating a wide variety of conditions, experienced at microsurgery, and is fellowship-trained in hand surgery. Some conditions he treats include:
- Complex reconstruction after trauma and cancer treatment (including breast, lymphedema, Mohs surgery, and abdominal wall hernias)
- Nerve disorders such as carpal tunnel syndrome (where a nerve in the hand is squeezed, causing numbness, tingling and pain)
- Arthritis pain (caused by wearing down of the cartilage of the joints with use and time)
- Brachial plexus injury (damage to the nerves that send signals from the spinal cord to the shoulder, arm and hand)
- Spasticity (abnormal muscle tightness caused by stroke, spinal cord injury or diseases such as cerebral palsy or multiple sclerosis)
- Fractures
- Trigger finger
He also specializes in patients with nerve issues, including migraine surgery. When he is not caring for his patients, Dr. Nigam enjoys hiking with his daughter, meditation, reading and art. He is from Southern Virginia and is excited to be back serving the community he grew up in.
