Non-Surgical Procedures

Injectables
Neurotoxin injections help relax wrinkles caused by facial movement
The number one minimally invasive cosmetic procedure performed recently was an injection of neurotoxin. These medications are used to relax the wrinkles caused by facial movement, including glabellar lines (vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows), horizontal forehead lines, and skin wrinkles at the out edges of the eye referred to as “crow’s feet.” By selectively weakening the proper muscles, providers can eliminate the wrinkles without disturbing normal function.

Fillers
Restore lost volume
As a person ages, the volume of fat and soft tissue in the cheeks and midface decreases, often giving a sunken or hollow appearance. Sagging of tissue also emphasizes facial folds around the eyes, cheeks, and lips. To restore lost volume in the cheeks, temples, and nasolabial folds, fillers including hyaluronic acid fillers (Juvéderm, Restylane, Restylane Lyft), polylactic acid (Sculptra), and calcium hydroxyapatite (Radiesse) are often used. Various fillers can also be used to enhance the appearance of the aging or atrophic lips, by restoring or creating fullness.

Manufacturers have manipulated particle size (thickness) and crosslinked molecules to offer both normal and longer duration products, as well as recently adding lidocaine to some products to dramatically decrease the pain of injection. The procedures are performed in the office following the application of topical or local anesthetic and have the immediate volumizing effects with very minimal downtime.

The use of injectable facial fillers is one of the fastest growing areas in the field of cosmetic surgery. Significant advances in have been recently made, resulting in the production of safer, more predictable and longer lasting fillers. Talk to one of our doctors about your options.

Restylane®
Restylane® is dermal filler used to restore volume and fullness to moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Restylane® is a non-animal-based hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the human body, which means that allergic reactions are not a concern. The treatment is simple and convenient, can be administered without pre-testing, and offers almost instant results. Restylane® results are long-lasting, giving skin a more youthful appearance for six months or longer.

Restylane Lyft®
Restylane Lyft® restores volume and fullness to the skin correcting moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Made from a water-soluble substance called hyaluronic acid, Restylane Lyft® restores volume to your skin. This wrinkle treatment can help you look younger and more relaxed without surgery, with results that typically last from six to nine months.

Juvéderm® Injectable Gel
Juvéderm® Injectable Gel includes hyaluronic acid, a natural complex sugar that bolsters skin elasticity, providing a smooth and supple appearance. It improves your appearance by lifting and adding volume to the wrinkles and folds in the treatment area. Juvéderm® Injectable Gel may last from six to nine months.

Kybella®:
Double-Chin Treatments
If you’d like to diminish a “double chin,” Kybella® may be a smart option for you. This non-surgical option is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment that destroys fat cells in the area under the chin to improve your profile.

Kybella treatment involves a series of multiple injections under the chin. Each session takes about 15 to 20 minutes. The exact number of treatments you’ll need can vary, depending on the number of fat cells you have under your chin and the goals you have for your profile.

CO2 Laser Resurfacing
CO2 Laser resurfacing is a method of using a laser to treat wrinkles, scars, warts and other conditions. CO2 lasers are used to precisely remove the superficial layer of skin to allow deeper layers of skin cells to regenerate fresh, new skin. This new skin will have fewer wrinkles, better texture, tone and feel.

Our experts will work with you to identify your goals and the areas to treat for the best, most natural looking results.

CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting is reshaping the way people are thinking about cosmetic procedures.
This fat reduction treatment is an FDA-cleared procedure that uses controlled cooling to safely target and eliminate diet- and exercise-resistant fat. CoolSculpting results are proven, noticeable, and lasting, so you’ll look and feel great from every angle. The CoolSculpting fat-freezing procedure is completely non-surgical, so you can typically return to work and normal activities immediately.

The Science of CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting’s fat-freezing technology gives long-term results that make trouble spots a lot less troubling. These stubborn pockets may vary greatly from person to person because we all carry fat in different areas of our bodies. The number of fat cells is set during childhood and adolescence and varies little during adulthood.  Fat cells don’t like the cold and at a certain temperature, they will freeze. Its technical name is cryolipolysis, which is just a science-y way to say fat freezing. Our experts spent years developing the treatment, which features one-of-a-kind technology that quite literally freezes fat. Once that happens, your body will naturally eliminate the dead cells in 2-6 months or more, resulting in up to 20%-25% reduction of fat in a treated area.

What to Expect
Get prepped
Your provider will apply a clear gel pad to the treatment area. This creates a barrier between the cooling panel and your skin. Clinical trials have demonstrated CoolSculpting® to be safe and effective in reducing fat in certain areas

Let science go to work
You’ll feel a slight sucking sensation as the applicator adheres to your body. During the procedure, you may experience sensations of pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, and cramping at the treatment site. These sensations subside as the area becomes numb.

And chill
During the treatment, you will be able to read, answer emails, or chat with a friend. After the applicator is detached, your provider will do a brief massage on the area to break up the treated fat cells and enhance the fat reduction. That’s it! Most patients experience little to no downtime after treatment.

One treatment with CoolSculpting® reduces up to 20-25% of fat cells in the treated area. You may need more than one treatment to reach your desired results and get the most out of your CoolSculpting® experience.

For individuals with healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle, cryolipolysis is a safe and effective way to reduce excess fat. CoolSculpting® is not a weight-loss treatment. CoolSculpting® is for patients at or near their ideal body weight who want to reduce fat in one or more of the 9-FDA cleared treatment areas.

Dermapen
Boost collagen and elastin with microneedling
Micro-needling is a treatment that uses tiny needles to trigger the production of collagen and elastin, which are thought of as the “building blocks” of smoother skin. Dermapen is currently the most advanced medical-grade automated micro-needling device on the market.

The micro-pen technique can have a positive effect on the appearance of:

  • Hyper and hypopigmentation
  • Acne scars
  • Traumatic scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Fine lines and wrinkles

The micro-needling process takes about 15-30 minutes, depending on the size of the area you want treated. During the procedure, the pen is gently pressed against the skin, gliding in one direction. The feeling is described by many as similar to light sandpaper being moved across the skin. When it’s done, you’ll likely notice an immediate glow to your skin. Many patients heal completely within 24 hours, and the positive results can continue to improve for up to 6 months.

TCA Peel
TCA is a non-toxic chemical (trichloroacetic acid) that is applied to the skin causing the top layers of cells to dry up and peel off over a period of several days to one week. When the old skin is peeled off, it exposes a new layer of undamaged skin, which has improved texture and tone.

TCA peels are commonly used to:

  • reduce brown spots and age spots
  • improve the texture of sun damaged skin
  • improve melasma
  • treat some types of acne
  • reduce fine lines

Facial Scar Revision
A scar on the face can be a constant and sometimes painful reminder of an accident or previous surgery. Although scars are permanent, scar revision is a blanket term for techniques used to blend the scar into the rest of your face, using techniques including surgery, laser resurfacing, dermabrasion, lasers, or filler. Treatment options for scar revision are many, and as such your initial consultation will involve examination of your scar and development of a plan action to treat your unique facial scar.
